008; Blog Post This recent post from the Housing Department got me to thinking, eh? They want so bad for their raids to be seen as just inspections, maybe they send an inspector, with checklist and scanner, instead of policemen with their guns and their batons. Leave the cops out on the street, keep things as civil as they want them to appear to be. Take away the icons of violence, the likelihood of it occurring will lessen. Just a thought maybe, for those housing people so worried for their image. | | Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 | | 1:15 pm |
007; Blog Post As if subways weren't already crowded enough, eh? | | Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 | | 1:02 am |
006; Blog Post Looks like the primaries gave us a few surprises, eh? That Paris Hilton, she's a shock to see - I still remember her from when I was a boy, between the two of us I think I've aged better.
Then again, one of the candidates in my district looks like she's barely out of grade school. This Kline girl sounds savvy, but she's up against real experience. She better promise some real changes she wants to compete in this district, I think. | | Thursday, July 1st, 2010 | | 1:12 pm |
005; Video Post [The picture opens on Shin's haggard face, but doesn't rest there for long. He seems to be turning his iHolo over and over in his hands as though inspecting the device, sending the video stream into a tailspin of blurry gym imagery. It's hard to tell if he's oblivious to the video rolling, or just agitated]
What makes me feel patriotic, eh? This is what I have to tell, if I want more bells and whistles for this noisy little thing? I think maybe I don't even know what my country is anymore. As a kid, I lived close to a border of another country that shut its borders to the world, that hid in isolation and schemed and feared all its neighbours. The world looked at this country and they thought, 'Little misguided backwards country, too bad its citizens can't see the truth past the propaganda their babo crazy leader feeds them'.
Now I live in this backwards country with its head stuck in the ground, with citizens pledging happy allegiance to their jailers. What makes me happy about this proud country we live in? The fact that we're not eating bark and digging tunnels to live in. Yet.
[The video closes on Shin's face again, delivering a simmering glower down the lens.] | | Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 | | 11:01 am |
004; Blog Post Some things, they seemed lot more exciting when I was a boy. Flying cars, eh? I already worry about looking left and looking right when I get near a sidewalk, now I need to worry about honking death from above too? Where do you need to go you can't get on four wheels, you need to fly?
Same goes for robot police, I think. In my day the robocop we envisioned still had some people in it, some soul. They protected the people. Not floating mechanical spiders to peek into our homes while we're sleeping, eh? | | Wednesday, April 21st, 2010 | | 11:53 am |
003; Blog Post It will let me sleep easier at night now, knowing that these dread chocolate smugglers are behind bars. No longer spreading their dangerous goods through our country, eh? You think as a parent I am made of money, can afford to fill all these cavities? It's good the government considers these things in their relentless war on sugar.
I wonder if recent studies will open up talks over the trade in 'medicinal coffee' though, eh? | | Monday, April 5th, 2010 | | 5:56 pm |
002; Blog Post The Feds must be bored I think, to be getting their fingers into the housing act. Good thing they have this free time, must mean they've got all their other mysteries good and solved eh? | | Monday, March 29th, 2010 | | 4:01 pm |
001; Audio Post [the audio recording is muffled and offhand, filled with the rummaging sound that one can fairly imagine is Shin pushing through his closet. The English snippet below is bookended nicely by grumbly and thankfully undecipherable Korean]
"...edeyona danchu! Muel!? Everywhere! What are these buttons? Immigrants are not the enemy? Yaa, my pajamas even!? What foolishness is this? Chuakhan! Chajanael gesida..." | | Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 | | 12:29 pm |
